New Members
Please read this before you do anything else on the site
Basically on this site, we have three different types of members. 1- Beginners. Beginning RPGers are either trying role play for the first time or have very little experience. Beginners need to at least try to be descriptive and write good RPG posts. If you don't try while on this site, you might as well leave. If you don't care or don't want to improve, don't join this site. Beginners should always be open for improvement in their RPGing. 2- Intermediate. Those who have medium experience and are familiar with role playing. Intermidiate RPG members also should be open for improvement. 3-Expert. Expert RPG members always use very descriptive words and have at least four 5 sentence paragraph posts. Anyone can improve, but expert members really don't need to. They set the example for the beginners and usually help push intermediate members along.
Next is the type of role play. Some sites talk about canon and non-canon, but we don't need to worry about that, seeing as this role play isn't following a book or book series (Canon is strictly following a book or book series). We have our own rules and we expect you to follow them.
The plot of the site isn’t that complicated. There is many, many, MANY versions of the vampire myth. On this site, vampires look like humans and basically are, except they are dead, drink blood in order to keep their bodies from decomposing, and can sprout black, leathery wings whenever they so wish (in this version, they do not turn into bats. But they can still fly- their wings look like over sized bat wings). They can hide their fangs (basically they can make their teeth grow into fangs and then make them sort of reverse grow back into regular teeth). When they drink blood, they bite through the skin and then suck. When a vampire “turns” a human, (makes them a vampire) the vampire bites the human, but does not suck their blood. The bite is only to put the human into a trance, giving the vampire in control of the human. After the vampire takes control of the human, they force the human to drink the vampire’s blood. (The vampire must cut themselves in some way and feed the human to complete the transformation)
Joining Our Site
To join our site, first you will need to register on our forum. Once you’ve done that, Proboards will send you an email with your activation code that will allow you to log in to the board. Some e-mail filters will consider Proboards as spam, so if you do not receive your email, check your junk mail folder or click the button to resend your activation code. If you’ve done that and still haven’t received your code, let the staff know in Questions for the Staff.
Once you have registered, your next step is to make your vampire. The choice of what gender, looks, personality, and history is entirely up to you. Once you have decided what the character looks like and ECT, it’s time to write your biography! To write your biography, go to the Character Approval Board and post your biography in the Vampire Approval section. This is the format we require:
Name-
Appearance Age: (how old they look)
Real Age: (how old they really are- vampires live forever... so be realistic. Having the age be in the hundreds is a good idea)
Species- (human or vampire only, no half werewolf or something)
Gender- (only female and male, please...)
Appearance-
Hair- (length and color)
Eyes- (color and anything else about their eyes)
Weight-
Height-
Personality- (this includes hobbies, temperament, favorite things, ECT)
History- (Start from birth to death- if your character is a vampire. Be sure to include boyfriends/girlfriends/friends, places the character has lived, and any big events that your character has gone through- that includes traumatic events)
There are also Human Character Approvals if you don’t want a vampire character.
The following are some tips that will help your chances of getting your profile approved the first time:
To see examples of biographies, look at the Approved Characters Board. If you look at the board, please do not copy the biographies! Our members have worked hard on creating their unique characters and it's upsetting to see one's hard work stolen.
Once you have posted your character’s biography, a staff member will look it over and approve or deny your character. In either case, that staff member will send you a PM (Personal Message). If you character was approved, you can begin Role Playing If your character was not approved, the staff member will tell you exactly what needs to be done to get your character approved - then you must resubmit your bio and get approved yet again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Role Playing isn’t all that hard to comprehend. You basically pretend to be your character. You write in the 3rd person (never use ‘I’ or ‘me’ in your posts Unless it is a thought, in which case you italics- the html code is [ I ] TEXT [ / I ] ((If you need help with the html codes, please just PM me or put it in the Questions for the Staff boards))), and are basically write a story. The only difference is you never control another person’s character or “God Moding” also known as “Puppet Mastery”.
If you are having troubles starting your first post, you could always read through some other member’s posts to help spark an idea. Or you can PM someone or staff to help you with ideas.
If you have any more questions or concerns, you may post it in the Questions for the Staff board or PM me (Username is “Admin”) or a staff member. After reading this, please go onto the rules and the rest of the New Member’s Section, then you may go onto Character Approvals. Happy RPGing
